Travel to Kaohsiung With My Best Friend
Recently, I often feel depressed and lost, and I have always thought about how to truly release my pressure. This Saturday, I felt like I was going to become a maniac if I continued to study Introduction of Linguistic, so I called my friend living in Kaohsiung to ask if he had time to go out tomorrow. And then on Sunday morning, I just put on my backpack and got on the train to the south.
Christmas tree in Zuoying train station
After I went out of the train station, I saw one of my best friends, Danny, with a big smile on his face. We are friends since junior high school, and even though we had been separated to different classes in the second year of high school, the relationship of our group didn’t change at all. Firstly, we went to the top of the mountain near Sizihwan as we could look at the whole scenery of the coast and sea. We just leaned against the railing and shared things happening recently. I found him feeling depressed as I do because we both lost in college life and couldn’t find the clear goal of life. It’s good to have a friend like him that we can be totally honest in front of each others and feel no shame at feeling bad. When he was smoking beside me, I told him that I would advise against you doing this in the past, but now I realized I shouldn’t say anything. Everyone knows smoking is bad, but I know nothing about their pain. He agreed with me, and we both smiled with a little bit of sorrow.
Afterwards, we headed back down while talking some nonsense and jokes. Also, we saw a lot of monkeys walking and sitting beside the road, and they looked extremely stupid and lost in their life as we do. After discussion, we decided to go into the Pier-2 Art Center because we saw crowds of people walking inside for an unknown reason when we passed through there. We followed the crowd to go inside the center and finally realized that everybody is here for the anime exhibition!! No wonder we saw so many cosplayers around us. We just spent our time walking around and chilling with those beautiful and cool cosplayers, and also took some pictures of the kids who flew the kites. I think this afternoon may be the most relaxed one this semester. Sky is blue, the sunshine is warm, and the small train encircling the center is cute. But there was still some weird art exhibition making us laugh all day, like the huge banana outside. I don’t really know what to say about this. They are big, yellow, and…Yes, they are big and yellow. Anyway, it’s a perfect afternoon.
When night’s coming, we went to the Old Dad Farm to have dinner. There’s a wonderful cafe where you can watch the planes land right in front of you. Danny and I just kept talking about our life, relationships and family. We both listened carefully and tried to give some courage to each others to face the hard time. Of course, we memorized everything when we were in the school, including some crazy stuff like breaking the ceiling of toilet and arguing with the terrible military instructor. It’s so chill that we almost forgot to go back home. All good things come to an end, Danny took me to the train station, and he said that we must meet other friends in winter vacation.
Sometimes life is a little bit difficult, but I am so lucky to have some friends who understands me more than my family and always get my back when I need them.
